"Lobo, The King of Currumpaw"

I'm illustrating an article about Ernest Seton the great conservationist and co-founder of the Boy Scouts. Before he was a conservationist he  was a famous wolf trapper. He was hired to trap a very wily wolf  who the locals had named "Lobo". It's a very interesting article and a good excuse to paint a wolf.
I hope the editor thinks so too.

I love the name of the wolf... "wolf" or "lobo" in spanish. That's awesome!

In response to "Pirates" won a place on VOYA's fourteenth annual non-fiction Honor list.

I agree with you. Your beautifully detailed illustrations really help to tell the story. I am a school librarian and when I read this book to elementary students, I rely heavily on the illustrations for student participation in discussing the book.

I was preparing my library lesson plan on this book and posting information about Pirates to my www.kids-book-club.wikispaces.com page that I use for teaching about the Texas Bluebonnet nominated books. I have a link to your blog on this wiki. When school starts again in August 2010, kids will be discussing these books and adding their comments. I know your book will get lots of great comments from the students.
