Here are a couple of new images I just finished, I like them both even though they are very different subjects. I hope to do more biblical images in the future, they are always interesting narratives and it is challenging to try to come up with something nobody has thought of.
My latest book, just arrived, available at Amazon. It a collection of sonnets accompanied by 10 illustrations by me.
My Home can be a Holy Place
One of my latest books, I really enjoyed working on this book, its important material for families, especially today... I'm not crazy about the cover art, I wish I could do it over...

Pirates
VOYA Award
VOYA Award
"Pirates" won a place on VOYA's fourteenth annual non-fiction Honor list. They invited the author to a reception during the ALA for a special reception where they will honor thirty books that made their list. The books will be displayed and the author and publisher will be congratulated. Unfortunately for me they did not mention the illustrator (ME) or the fact that Pirates was a book idea that I pitched to the publisher and has been my baby since college... sounds like I am bitter, I really need to learn how to write so I don't have to suffer second billing and being left home to sop up my tears the rest of my career.
In fairness David L.Harrison is a great author and has won many awards and has a school named after him, who am I to complain.
Deseret News
Deseret News writer Marilou Sorensen wrote a very nice review of "The White Ox" book. She apparently liked my illustrations. " What places "The White Ox" above the average pioneer story are Burr's stunning paintings, which emote guiet dignity." I like this kind of press. You can read the rest of the review here.
Thanks Marilou.
The White Ox
Here is a really nice review written in The Spectrum ( a news paper from Southern Utah) about "The White Ox" book. I really appreciate it when someone likes my books. It makes all the hard work worth it. Thanks Jennifer Weaver. Here is the link.
